Trust, Security & Autonomy in the Vehicle of the Future

Connected and autonomous vehicles will become a reality within the next decade. Future vehicles will be built around Internet and software systems that will give rise to higher demand for security as well as trustworthy properties such as safety and privacy. However, the architectures and software of modern automotive systems are not designed, built, or tested with security in mind. The automotive eco-system as a whole (including OEMs, suppliers, and after-market manufacturers, etc.) is facing the urgent challenge of building securely connected and autonomous vehicles for the years to come. In TRUSTED, we study how cyber-security contributes to a modern automotive eco-system as a whole such that all parties reach a consensus on how to deal with future threats in this industry.
